Create a buzz across Discord communities in ANZ for the much-anticipated release of Despicable Me 4.
Challenge
We were tasked with building hype across gaming communities in a way that cuts through and drives purchase of theater tickets.
Solution
Use striking, fun assets to cut through the usual wall of text on Discord with the familiar minion characters, asking people to engage with a 🍌 emoji to enter a giveaway, delivered by a branded bot to give the campaign a shiny feel.
In the short, snappy copy, community managers made sure to cover the key release dates and brief synopsis of the movie.
Thousands of people entered the giveaway to win tickets to the movie for that weekend, providing a live & real-time feel in a community.
Results
Over 3,000 entries/engagements from just 3 communities, providing bang for their buck in a small and tactical activation.
